NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT, WHICH WAY ARE WE GOING?

Call a spade a spade gathered from reliable source that almost 400 Nigerian prisoners were to be sent back to our country to complete their prison sentence, the reason given by the British Government is simply that their prison is congested and can no longer accommodate prisoners.

The British Government was looking for a conducive prison similar to UK’s standard in Nigeria. Apparently, our country does not have such comfortable and relaxing prison, therefore in view of this; the British Government has requested that our Government should provide a more comforting prison within a short period even though the said prisoners happened to commits their said offence in the UK.

It was also gathered that our Government after a long persuasion from the British Government agreed to build and provide a comfortable prison to accommodate Nigeria British prisoners within a given time.

The Questions are;
(1) Why would the British Government want to send the prisoners back to Nigeria even though the offence was committed in the UK?
(2) Does the same apply to other countries in the world?
(3) Why would our Government agree to such arrangements and is this new comfortable prison funded by the British Government?

MOTHER’S DAY

MOTHER’S DAY…………….LET’S CELEBRATE WOMEN

Mothers/Women are unique and original, born for the best, created to be distinguished, configured to be envied and packaged for the best.

Women are the sweetest gift from God to us, no wonder the scripture referred to the world as incomplete without women.

There is no way we can ever really thank our mothers for all they do for us -
(a) Shall we start from been a loving, caring, respectable, problem sharing and house wife to their hard working husband.
(b) Carrying/going through that interesting full of comforts for nine months journey gestation and delivery of babies.
(c) Nursing and nurturing their babies till they are grown up and even continuously supporting their babies including their husbands when things, roads are rough.
(d) On top of all the above mentioned, women work very hard to support their husband to raise their immediate family and husband's family,
(e) Women work endlessly to make sure their children and husband become a person to be reckoned with in society. An example of great women of substance and women of great virtue is yourself but to mention but a few, Late Simbiat Abiola.

I remember my Father (of blessed memory) told us that my mother was his backbone, being a local teacher in those days, how much salary do they get per month. He told us that whenever he has nothing to put on the table for the household, he will not come into the house until it was late at night, when everybody was asleep.

There is no way we can ever really thank our Mothers/Women enough for all they do for us: nevertheless we must make it a habit to keep reminding ourselves of the various SACRIFICES women make while raising us.

MOTHERS DAY WOMEN APPRECIATION DAY: is the best time to say in words: HOW MUCH WE LOVE AND CARE FOR OUR MUMS, WIVES, and PARTNERS MOST ESPECIALLY WOMEN.

FROM MY DESK & MY TEAM: A little poem and appreciation to all WOMEN & MOTHERS

Remembering how dear you are, how very special too, because you brings such fond and loving thoughts on Mother’s day, because you’re understanding, patient and so kind.
You give help and support whenever needed, you are the best friend one could find, and you are first with warm encouragement whenever the sky looks grey.
Knowing your love is always there that will brighten any day.
You handle trouble and carry heavy burdens; still you hold happiness, love, and opinions.
You smile even when you feel like screaming and sing when you feel crying and cry when you are happy even laughs when you are afraid.
Your love is unconditional but sometimes
YOU FORGET WHAT YOU WORTH
Mums, Mothers and Women, you are appreciated and mean more than words could ever show/expressed and what better time than this one to fondly tell you that YOU ARE THE BEST MUMS/WOMEN IN THE WORLD.

H A PP Y M O T H E R’S D A Y.

On today’s Call a spade a spade we are looking at the following questions:
(1) Who are those Women to be celebrated in our community?
(2) Women are to be role model: Are women good role model to their children/ even to the community?
(3) What are the good qualities good Mum/Mother/Women should have?
(4) How does our culture impact into our role as a Mother?

Continuation of the last week's edition.

Last week's issue on Call a spade a spade is to do with our versatile TV Presenter.

Firstly, call a spade a spade would like to thank and appreciate our audience and contributors for your support.

This week is a continuation of last week’s edition.

Call a spade a spade received numerous calls from other creditors both male and female lodging similar complaints about same TV presenter. However it is our policy to give the other party a chance to either defend their case or agree to settle amicably, as part of the aims and objectives of this programme.

Call a spade a spade received a call from the Presenter’s Personal Assistant who reported that the Presenter is currently busy and would want call a spade a spade to narrate the case to him to enable him to relate it to the said Presenter. The Personal Assistant was directed to the blogspot - http://www.abikeade.blogspot.com and advised that the TV Presenter needs to contact Call a spade a spade as soon as possible. Up till now Call a spade a spade is yet to hear from the Presenter.

We would like to report that Call a spade a spade received various threatening calls for airing the case. Nevertheless the case is still under investigation, and we still await a reply from our able presenter.

Last week a “friend and mentor” of the said Presenter as he claimed contacted Call a spade a spade during the week, in a lengthy discussion he stated that he would like to help Ms Esther arrange a mortgage whereby she can take some equity out on the property at a later stage of which the mentor states can help in resolving the issue of £35,000 debts that we are talking about.

This week.

Call a spade a spade is looking at issues surrounding the vulnerability of women in our community and we believe it's worthy of discussion.

Most women wish to be with a man but some do not care who they go out with or date, all they care about is that the man is either a celebrity or buoyant in terms of money.

Some of the Presenter friend’s informed Call a spade a spade on how many women - single and married (still living with their husbands) flock round the Presenter.
The Presenter’s friends also told call a spade a spade about a particular lady who was preparing for her engagement, how she ditched her fiancĂ© for the Presenter all in the name of celebrity. Call a spade gathered that these women wooed the Presenter with their belongings and money.

The simple fact is some men realise that these women posed to be desperate for a husband or relationship, some men then feast on their vulnerability. Some men too, who are married or better still in a steady relationship go about posing and promising ladies of marriage, which they cannot offer on the pretence that this women are vulnerable.

For the benefit of those who didn’t listen to last week’s programme or yet to read it on our http://www.abikeade.blogspot.com . Please do read it and post your comment.

We would like to discuss the following questions:

(1) Who is to be blamed for all these problems/atrocities, Men or Women?
(2) What do we say to married women who are caught in this act as well as men that engaged in such activities?
(3) Why is it that our community cannot say the truth whenever things goes wrong or why trying to put the blame on others (people that are threatening us).
(4) Where are we going from here?

Where is our versatile TV Presenter?

Sometimes last year a report reached call a spade a spade from one Ms Esther.

She reported to be in search for a well renounced journalist and a presenter, well known in our community and ofcourse in the Diaspora. Since last year, call a spade a spade has being on the look out for this able and versatile presenter.

We requested for his contact from our colleagues in the industry both home and abroad and no one is yet to come up with his details up till present. Call a spade a spade is yet to locate this handsome, well read and educated presenter who happened to know the impart of his alleged offence.

Call a spade a spade is yet to find out his own side of the allegations. As much as call a spade a spade tried not to air the said allegations, pressures are mounting from all corners as the person concerned had reported the case to the police for investigation.

Ms Esther reported to have assisted the said presenter to get accommodation when he claimed not to have a place to sleep and he (presenter) claimed sleeping in borrowed car and sometimes wherever he could find as at that time.

Ms Esther also reported to have helped him to secure accommodation by renting from private estate agency in 2005. Also reported that he claimed to have being sent out by his wife and had his baggage and luggage in his car. She also said he lived in a travel lodge near the Black Wall tunnel by Canning Town.

Ms Esther claimed she got him a studio flat in Layton Stone High Road for £2,000.00 as her partner which he later paid back. She also said after some months, he stopped paying his rent and the rent owing to date is: £1,300.00.

Ms Esther also reported to have assisted him to get a Mercedes Benz car through finance for £15,000.00 but later approached NatWest Bank who took up the finance and was reduced to £12.000.00 instead of £15.000.00. She also got him Marks & Spencer store card where he owes £5,000.00.

Money Owing:
(1) Marks & Spencer - £5,000.00
(2) Virgin - £2,500.00
(3) Halifax - £1,500.00
(4) Barclays - £7,000.00
(5) BT landline - £777.00
(6) Abbey - £2,359.04
(7) NatWest Loan - £12,000.00

Total money owing: £35,000.00 without the interest.

Ms Esther reported him to have left the country for Nigeria since 12/06/2008 without any arrangement on how to settle all the above mentioned debts.

She reported NatWest Bank arranged for a meeting on how to recover the loan back before he left for Nigeria but he promised to return to London by 18/07/2008 but till the present moment, there has been no break light of this presenter.

She also reported him to have left the Mercedes Benz car packed in front of her house before leaving the country. She said all efforts to locate this man proved abortive. Therefore Ms Esther said she is now left to pay back all the debts.

Call a Spade questioned Ms Esther after all the allegations she made against the said presenter if there is a relationship or disagreement between them before he disappeared or she just wanted to blackmail him because of his popularity.

Ms Esther then replied that she only helped him because when she came to this country, she was apparently assisted by a yoruba person who doesn’t even knew her.

The Questions are:

(1) Do you think call a spade a spade should allow people to mention this person’s name Or not?
(2) Do you want call a spade a spade to wait as long as it takes to get his contact?
